View Flow Results

When your contacts interact with a flow, their responses are stored as flow results. You can access these by selecting "Results" from the gear icon drop-down menu in the flow editor.

Overview

You will be directed to a page that displays a summary of your flow results. The “Overview” tab, as pictured below, shows the date, day and time of your message sent, as well as the overall completion rate.

Analytics

The “Analytics” tab displays results from flow results that have been saved during your flow.

Runs

The “Runs” tab displays all interactions with your flow. Passage through a flow from entrance to exit – and all activity that takes place in between – constitutes a run. Contacts exit a flow when they

  • complete the flow,

  • start another flow via the Enter Another Flow action, or

  • expire from the flow after the period of inactivity you designate.

The “Runs” tab automatically displays only interactions in which contacts have responded; however, you can switch to view all runs by selecting “All” in the upper left corner of the page. You can also choose to view additional variables by using the “More Columns” dropdown.

From this tab, you can also delete runs from your flow results. Simply hover over the run, and click the 'X' icon that appears.

Links

Finally, the “Links” tab displays results from any trackable links that you have included in your flow.

Download Your Results

To download your results, click the "Download" button in the right-hand corner of the Flow Results page.

The 'Export Flow Results' dialogue will appear. Here, you can choose:

  • Which group memberships to include in the export

  • Which contact fields to include in the export (select up to 10)

  • Which additional URNs (i.e. email address or Twitter handle) to include in the export in addition to the contact UUID and phone number

You can also choose to only export results for contacts who responded and/or to export all messages sent and received in the flow.

After clicking 'OK', an email will be sent to the address attached to your account once the results are ready. The link in this email will direct you to a page where you can download your results.

Understanding Your Flow Results Export

Depending on the settings you select in the 'Export Flow Results' dialogue, the exported XLS file will contain 1 or 2 tabs:

  • Runs: This tab displays contact information and flow results for every interaction with your flow. You will see the same contact listed more than once if they have interacted with the flow multiple times.

  • Messages: This tab displays every message sent from the flow to your contacts and vice versa. It provides the message direction (IN/OUT), message text, send date, and contact information.

In the “Runs” tab, each row constitutes a single run. The columns will contain each contact's:

  • UUID

  • URN (phone number or other address used)

  • Name

  • Group membership(s)

  • Start, modified, and end time of their run

  • Flow results

In the Air Quality 2.0 flow, users are asked if they would like to receive an air quality report the following day. This flow result is saved as “reminder.”

In the flow results export, data for this variable appears under the columns labeled “reminder.”

Each response is presented in four columns - Category, Value, Text, and Corrected

  • The Category column contains the category in which the contact's response has been placed according to the response rules assigned. As the image above indicates, any response containing YesYupYS, or Si is categorized as Yes.

  • The Value column contains the value collected by a response rule. If the incoming message reads "Yes I would," the value collected will be “Yes” because the response contains a value that matches one of the words specified using the “has any of these words” response rule. If a contact responds only with one of the words specified by the response rule (i.e. "Yes"), the value and text columns will contain the same value.

  • The Text column contains the full, raw text of the user’s response in the flow, i.e. "Yes I would."

  • The Corrected column contains the corrected text of a user’s response if you have enabled spell check on a ‘Wait for Response’ action.

Export the Results of Multiple Flows

To export the results of multiple flows, navigate to the "flows" tab and select the boxes of the flows you'd like to export, then click the export icon that appears above your flows when one or more is selected.
